The Mexika people were as all indigenous people , reliant on the oral tradition of storytelling to preserve and protect the history, knowledge and culture of their clan. Today this ancient form of communication has been replaced with mass media. Come back to a simpler time when the stories of our community were made  vivid and lively through storytelling. Hear the old stories and create your own as we explore the art of the story.

The artist of Azteca Art Colorado have taught and created dozens of custom murals for over ten years. We have painted community murals throughout the  South West from the Picuris Pueblo in New Mexico to schools in Jefferson County Colorado. Join us in creating a vibrant and magical one of a kind mural for your school or organization.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

Dia de Los Muertos

Day of the Dead is celebrated through out t Mexico and the South West United States with much reverence and ceremony. It is a time in early November every year where community and family honor and pay respect to those  who have passed on. This ancient holiday is a time of reflection and preparation. Altars, sugar skulls, offerendas, and Pan de Muerto  are lovingly created to honor those beloved ancestors who are no longer among us. Azteca Art Colorado has numerous workshops that teach and explain the traditions of these special tributes. We have 20 years experience teaching these workshops and welcome all , new comers and veterans alike.
